6. Web & user analysis

Tracking or web analysis tools are used on our website. These collect access data on our website and evaluate the behavior of our visitors for the purposes of optimizing our offer. These tools can be used to examine how and from where visitors arrive at our site, which areas on a website are visited particularly often and how often and how long which subpages and categories are viewed. In addition, we can determine which search terms and websites the user has entered and evaluate how many users visit our pages overall and which information or offers are in the most demand. The goal is to be able to use these findings to make our offers and our web appearance user-friendly. By statistically evaluating the user profiles, statements can be derived about the functionality and success of our websites and functions, such as answers to questions, how often informational pages about certain product groups are accessed or how many visitors have clicked on certain offers. We can use the tracking tools to target our offer to our customers, visitors and prospective customers in a more targeted manner.

Personal data

IP address

Purpose of the data processing

The tracking tools can be used to evaluate the website visitor’s behavior and analyze the interests. We create a pseudonymized user profile for this purpose.

Recipient

We do not disclose your data to third parties. In the area of web and user analysis, however, we work together with professional service providers who create user statistics on our behalf. The basis for this contractual relationship is, among other things, the provider's obligation to have taken special precautions to protect your data and to process all personal data only according to our instructions (art. 28 GDPR).

Privacy Policy - Analytics Platform - Matomo

Duration of the data storage

Matomo anonymizes the stored fingerprints after 24 hours and then generates new fingerprints using a random process. The storage is thus a maximum of 24 hours and ends with the anonymization.

Legal basis

Art. 6 para. 1 f) GDPR

Provision stipulated or required

The provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually required.

Data collected

  • Two bytes of the IP address of the user's calling system
  • The accessed web page and the time of the access
  • The website from which the user accessed the accessed website (referrer)
  • The subpages that are called up from the called-up website
  • The time spent on the website
  • The frequency with which the website is accessed
  • Which browser with which plugins, which operating system and which screen resolution is used

Special note

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. A storage of the personal data of the users takes place only there.

Functionality

The software is set so that the IP addresses are not stored completely, but 2 bytes of the IP address are masked (Ex: 192.168.xxx.xxx). In this way, an assignment of the shortened IP address to the calling computer is no longer possible.
In addition, Matomo implements the so-called "fingerprinting" method, which is used for tracking without cookies, anonymously. Every 24 hours, a random value is generated for this fingerprint, thus preventing recurring visitors to the website from being recognized and a personal user profile from being created. Due to these measures, we do not see any significant intrusion into the personal rights of our website visitors and to this extent we consider the interest in the collection of the information to be predominant. The right to object to such collection at any time remains unaffected, of course.

8. plugins & embedded functions

We incorporate functional and content elements in our online offer, which are obtained from the servers of their respective providers (hereinafter referred to as “third party providers”). This may be, for example, graphics, videos or social media buttons as well as posts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as “content”).
The integration always requires that the third party of this content process the user’s IP address, since they could not send the content to their browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required to show this content or these functions. We endeavor to only use content whose respective providers can use the IP address only to deliver the content. Third party providers can also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also called “web beacons”) for statistical or marketing purposes. The pixel tags can be used to evaluate information, such as the visitor traffic on this website's pages. The pseudonymous information can also be stored in cookies on the user’s device and, among other things, may contain information about the browser and the operating system, about the referring websites, about the time of visit as well as other information about the use of our online offering, as well as be associated with such information from other sources.

Individual graphic emojis are used on our website, i.e. small graphic files that express feelings, which are obtained from external servers. The providers of the server collect the IP addresses of the users here. The emojis are supplied via the Open Source Content Delivery Network (CDN), developed by Prospect One. A CDN is a service that is used to deliver content from our online offering, such as graphics or scripts, faster using regionally distributed servers connected via the Internet. To the best of our knowledge, user data is only processed for the aforementioned purposes and to maintain the security and functionality of the CDN.

Open Street Map
Interactive display and usability of the maps technically requires that data be exchanged with the servers maps.wikimedia.org (for map sections) and unpkg.com (for loading the Leaflet files). This exchange would generally make it possible to transfer information about your website visit (including your IP address) to the aforementioned servers and store it there. Other personal data is not exchanged with the Leaflet service. Due to the design of the Leaflet JavaScript library directly in your browser (“client-side” execution), no files about the accessed map sections are stored on the Sustainability Council's server. The Leaflet library is temporarily stored in your browser software's memory (in the “browser cache”). You have the option of disabling the Leaflet services, thereby preventing data transfer to third parties by disabling JavaScript in your browser. However, we point out that in this case you may not be able to fully use the map display on our pages or may not be able to use it at all. Openstreet map can only be used after you give your prior consent as per Art. 6 para. 1 (a) GDPR.

9. Fonts

This site uses web fonts to uniformly display fonts. When accessing a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache to correctly display texts and fonts. For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to the servers. Web fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing representation of our online offers. This is a legitimate interest in the sense of article 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

The integration occurs based on our legitimate interests in a technically secure, maintenance-free and efficient use of fonts and their uniform representation. We have locally integrated the corresponding Monotype fonts in Weblication so that they are loaded from our own server instead of from Monotype servers.

10. Data security

We maintain current technical measures to ensure the data security, especially to protect your personal data from dangers during data transmission and from third parties gaining knowledge of your data. These are continuously adjusted and reviewed in keeping with the latest technological developments. To maintain confidentiality and integrity of the data you specified on our website, this data is transmitted via “https” and Transport Layer Security (TLS).

11. Your Rights

You have the right to always ask us to confirm whether we are processing your personal data as well as the right to information about this personal data. Moreover, you have the right to rectification, deletion and restriction of data processing, as well as the right to object to the processing of personal data, or to revoke the consent for data processing at any time, or to request data processing.
All information requests, revocations or objections to data processing should please be sent by email to dtnschtzbth-sndrmschnnd. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority in the case of data protection violations.

12. Right of objection

For reasons resulting from your specific situation, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data concerning you at any time that is occurring based on Art. 6 para. 1 (a) or (f) GDPR, as per Art. 21 GDPR. We will then stop processing your personal data, unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the assertion, exercising or defense of legal claims.
