Fire protection - a demanding topic with highly developed products and materials. This also includes special fire protection panels and composite boards, which have to be drilled reliably and precisely at various points (horizontally and vertically). Producing them manually is not only error-prone, but also cost-intensive. At this point, automation offers a double potential: on the one hand, labor costs can be reduced, while at the same time process reliability is increased. This also convinced our customer, who asked us to develop such a special machine.
This machine should be able to produce various types of components in different machining programs without any set-up effort, while at the same time providing flexibility for future modifications and changed drilling specifications. With a compact and space-saving design made of durable materials and integrated removal of drilling waste as well as optional marking of the components, it is ideally equipped for long-term operation.
This project once again underlines the strengths of special mechanical engineering: our customer‘s individual requirements are not only met, but specifically upgraded with additional benefits. For example, the concept was enhanced with a safety mechanism that reliably prevents collisions between the horizontal and vertical drilling units, thus ensuring maximum safety and short machining times. The specially developed, durable support table also ensures a long lifetime and provides an ergonomic work surface. In addition, a foot switch for starting the programs enables comfortable and efficient working.
Thanks to the clever design, the machine can be retooled very quickly with a manual pull-out in front of the support table, which increases efficiency in the production process and reduces operating costs.
As a result, this machine concept combines safety, efficiency and flexibility - ideal for long-term, intensive industrial operation.
